Beautiful piece. I'd like to add that I agree we should focus on safety. I wouldn't agree that following others' example is ever a good rule to live by.
Are you referring to drivers safety? Or safety in general? As in, just because everyone else is doing it (stopping while
Driving- in this case -but could extend to anything that we might be socially pressured to do like getting plastic surgery or having children) doesn’t mean we should too- except when it comes to safety. If I see all the cars stopping, I’m going to at least slow down to see why, unlike this kid who seem to think it was an invite to go faster.
I agree, we should always trust our intuition and question authority and the masses— while also philosophicaly considering the entitlement of individualism when it causes harm versus the care of community in regard to equity and equality. Topics that were slightly breathed upon in this piece but not deeply explored. After your comment, which I appreciate, I can see how the words I used with one intention could be turned to be used for another … which was not my attention.
I’d say that the reason he should have slowed down or stopped is for everyone’s safety, not because it’s what everyone else was doing.
The intersection of individualism, care of the community, equity and equality is too complex to address in a comment, and I don’t want to hijack your piece. 🩵
I should have offered a protection prayer example.
I started to write the one we use which is specific to us and our family but it felt too vulnerable to share.
Perhaps I’ll edit in the next few days and add this simple protection prayer I was taught 30 years ago that may sound too
Religious for those who have yet to define God without religion, as we have and do— (based on decades of education around world religions and writing the book, “What religion is God?” And learning to separate God from religion).
Protection Prayer:
“The Light of God surrounds me;
The Love of God enfolds me;
The Power of God protects me;
The Presence of God watches over me;
Wherever I am, God is,
And all is well.”
I think this may have been created by a universal unity practitioner (author unknown).
This is so beautiful, “your prayer is your song is choice”
I needed this transmission today.
Thank you, dear Prajna.

Thank you, Moorea. 🌼
