I agree and don't think "it's fine" that Mel Robbins usurped - the fact that she's trying to gain trademarking would mean that Kassie would no longer have access to her own work. Kassie could pivot, but then Mel or someone else will just take the next thing, whatever that is. This business model is really damaging. People who say, well, that's just business and you need to get tougher or get out, are making excuses to make it okay and not get backlash for bad behavior. The fact that something is commonly done has nothing to do with whether or not it is good or helpful or necessary. Maybe there is a better way. One that doesn't keep us in desperate grasping mode to get or stay ahead. One that doesn't harm our seeming competitors and keeps us challenged to do good work ourselves. - and I'll probably be called naive, or worse, but there is actually a movement to do better in business.

You started to mention safety in stepping out - and I've been wondering this as well. When someone is already established, whatever "new" thing they're launching is also established with them. Without that, we're just bait for sharks. If we're simply taking what we want from whoever we want (because "nothing's new"), then how does anyone have a chance to establish themselves if they have to hold back from launching something until they're more established? And how much does that take? When are we established enough to do that? Is this an age-old question and we're just seeing it play out in other arenas now? I would love to hear more on this topic. There are those who say "I just never worry about it. I go out in faith that all will work out really well." I'm betting that Kassie did as well. Until her work got usurped.

Yes! You make excellent points. I think the answer is a class action suit- that’s what sets new rules in place— legality.

It’s not naivety at all- you’re speaking very wise words. Where is our collective integrity?

We CAN do better. It’s a choice. WE have the power to change by the standards we set and hold others accountable to.

Thank you for sharing. I appreciate you.

It’s comforting to know that they think WW3 will only be 72 hours.
